Semana Santa runs from 27 March – 5 April 2026 and is one of Spain’s most important celebrations.

What you’ll see:

Religious processions through towns
Traditional robes (nazarenos)
Huge decorated floats
Music, drums and candlelight

💛 Family-friendly tips:

Murcia is the most relaxed (kids often get sweets 🍬)
Orihuela is more traditional and dramatic
Go earlier in the evening with little ones
You don’t need to stay for the whole thing

Our favourite shopping centre in the area 💛Set in a beautiful open-air setting, it has everything you could need- from shops and restaurants to plenty of space for little ones to explore.

There are also two fantastic parks for children to enjoy, making it a great spot for a relaxed family day out. During the warmer months, the water fountains are always a big hit with the kids Just make sure they’ve got suitable footwear on, as the ground can get slippery when wet!
