If you’re heading to Los Alcázares for a family holiday, you’re in for a treat. This lovely town on the shores of the Mar Menor is full of safe, fun activities for children of all ages. From splash pads to sandy play parks, mini golf to beachfront cafés, there’s something for everyone.

The Splash Pad & Mini Golf at Los Narejos
One of our absolute favourite places to take our girls is the Splash Pad in Los Narejos. Entrance is just €2.50 per child, and it’s brilliant for cooling off on a hot day. The fenced splash area has fountains, jets, and sprayers that children can run through safely. Parents can relax on benches around the edge, knowing the kids are having fun in a secure space.
Right next door is a mini golf course which is €7 for adults and €5 for children and perfect for a game after splashing about. The on-site café serves hot food (pizza, chips, and more) as well as cold snacks, drinks, and ice creams. There are plenty of shaded tables where you can enjoy a bite and keep an eye on the children.
💧 Top tip: Pack swimwear, towels, and sun cream. The splash pad is usually open from June to September, and mornings or late afternoons are best before it gets too hot.
Play Parks by the Beach
Los Alcázares has lots of parks for children to enjoy. Two of our favourites are:
🌳 The park by Hotel Balneario La Encarnación - A small play park right by the beachfront. We love starting the day here with a typical Spanish breakfast, tostada with tomato and olive oil, and a glass of fresh orange juice, all while the children play. You can sit at one of the café’s terrace tables and watch them in comfort.
🏖 The park in the sand pits - This beachside park has play equipment set in soft sand. It’s simple fun and great for combining with a day at the beach. Bring buckets and spades so the little ones can dig and build while they play.
Family-Friendly Beaches
The beaches of Los Alcázares are perfect for families. The Mar Menor lagoon has warm, shallow water and gentle waves — ideal for paddling and safe swimming. Playa Carrión, Playa La Concha, and Playa de Las Salinas are all lovely, clean, and easy to access. Facilities include cafés, toilets, showers, and ice cream stands.
More Things to Do With Kids in Los Alcázares
There are plenty of activities to keep your family entertained in Los Alcázares. Here are some more options:
🏌 Mini Golf Deluxe - A well-kept 18-hole course with fun obstacles. Around €11 for adults and €8 for children.
🚂 Tourist mini train - A gentle ride through town. Tickets cost about €3-5 per person, and little ones under 3 often go free.
🚣 Water sports - Kayak and paddleboard hire on the Mar Menor starts from around €10 an hour.
🏁 Go-karting near San Javier - A popular choice for older children and teens who fancy something a bit faster.
